How Common Hands works
Getting started is simple. Follow these steps to create your profile, get verified, and start connecting with your community.
Create your account
Sign up with your name and email. It takes less than two minutes. Your profile starts as a draft — nothing is public until you publish it.
Build your profile
Add your skills, services, or business. Include your location, languages, organization, and a short description of what you offer or need.
Select your categories
Choose the skill or service categories that best describe you. This helps people find you when they search the directory.
Set your location
Add your city, state, and county. You can also specify service areas — the places where you provide or need assistance.
Complete verification
Verify your identity to earn a verified badge. Verification options include government-issued ID, school or work ID, video verification, or organization verification.
Agree and publish
Review and agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. Once approved by our team, your profile goes live in the directory.
Verification options
Verification helps establish authenticity and builds trust in the community. Choose the option that works best for you.
Government-issued photo ID
Driver's license, passport, state ID, or other government-issued photo identification.
School or work ID
A valid photo ID from an accredited school or employer that includes your name and photo.
Video verification
A short video call or recorded video confirming your identity and presence.
Organization verification
Verification through a recognized organization, nonprofit, or institution you are affiliated with.
Important notice
Verification helps establish authenticity but does not guarantee a person's qualifications, safety, or quality of service. Always use good judgment, check references, and take appropriate precautions when connecting with others through Common Hands.
